Event day
Armed Forces Day was established in 1956 to commemorate October 1, 1950, when the Armed Forces first crossed the 38th parallel.

After the establishment of the Defense Security Guard, the commemorative events held by each army, air force, and navy were integrated into October 1st and designated as anniversaries.

Since 1976, Armed Forces Day has been established as a public holiday and celebrated the day by holding various events, but it has been excluded from legal holidays due to the fact that it is less efficient in economic activities due to too many holidays in October.

Currently, Armed Forces Day is only holding commemorative events.
