On October 21, 1945, the U.S. Military Police Agency established a legal anniversary to reflect on police officers who overcame adversity and trials as founding, saving, and protecting police officers since the establishment of the U.S. Military Government Office, and to strengthen new resolutions as a force to create an advanced homeland.

It is October 21 every year, and since the first commemorative event was held in 1948, the day was designated as 'Police Day' in accordance with the order of the Ministry of the Interior, and it was confirmed as a government-sponsored anniversary in 1973 under the regulations on various anniversaries.
