The Korean Liberation Army is a regular military officer of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, which was organized in Chongqing, Republic of China on September 17, 1940.

Founded in January 1939, it was formed on September 17, 1940, in conjunction with the Party Army of the Korean Independence Party and other independence forces, as well as the Manchurian Independence Army led by Ji Cheong-cheon and Lee Beom-seok.

In 1942, Kim Won-bong's Joseon Medical Corps was absorbed, and the scale was expanded and reorganized. It was Ji Cheong-cheon and Lee Beom-seok, his chief of staff, who effectively led the Liberation Army.

The Liberation Army was controlled by the Chinese People's Party until 1944 and took over the command from the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea in August 1944.

Later, he prepared for a domestic vacuum operation with OSS, the predecessor of the U.S. CIA, before returning to Korea in 1946 on August 15, 1945.
